Shoulder Dislocations and Overhead Mobility
In the next series of videos, Jim will take you through a range of mobilisations and activations that are ideal for warm ups and corrective exercise.
We start with shoulder dislocations (don't worry - they aren't as bad as they sound!) and overhead mobility.
Coaching Points:
- Encourage clients to challenge their personal boundaries during mobilisations.
- Adjust hand positioning and resistance of the band to maintain the benefit as their mobility improves.
- Avoid arching the lower back or lifting the rib cage when stretching overhead, as this indicates a lack of range of movement from the shoulders and lats and encourages an anterior tilt of the hips with increased pressure on the lumbar spine.
